Additional Sources for Information on
Brain Tumors and other Diseases of the Brain
The Brain Tumor Foundation
The intended scope of the Brain Tumor Foundation is international. Its purpose is to proactively improve the care of patients with brain tumors world-wide. This will be accomplished by consumer (patient) empowerment from the dissemination of information and by the active provision of support services which are not readily available in for-profit or cost-based medical care delivery systems. There are basically two arms of the BTFs mission: Intelligence and Compassion.
The BTF believes that consumer empowerment by up-to-date information made conveniently available electronically will force the homogenization of standards of care to the highest level currently available. In addition, the screening program, early detection and treatment will significantly improve many patients' chances for cure.
